Founded by designer Sarah Jean, Where Watermelons Grow is a coastal jewelry brand rooted in craftsmanship, connection + the easy rhythm of life by the water.
It started down by the bay.
Founder + designer Sarah Jean grew up on the shores of Long Island, where the coast, long summer days + making things by hand shaped her earliest creative memories.
Where Watermelons Grow began in 2012 as an extension of that upbringing, inspired by the sea, friendship, craftsmanship + the idea that jewelry should feel natural to wear and personal to keep.
Today, WWG has grown into a small team creating jewelry from the studio in Scituate, Massachusetts, while staying closely connected to the feeling that started it all.
Down by the bay.
Growing up, Sarah spent summer days making friendship bracelets with her cousins and selling them down by the bay as day-trippers came off the ferry at Davis Park on Fire Island. Somewhere along the way, her mom even taught her to macramé using seaweed found on the beach.
The name Where Watermelons Grow is a little nod to those days. Not so much about watermelons, but about summers by the sea, making things with your hands, friendship, creativity + the freedom of long summer days.
That feeling has stayed at the heart of WWG ever since.

Now rooted in Scituate, Massachusetts, Sarah designs, handcrafts + finishes much of the WWG collection from the studio by the bay, surrounded by the textures, tones + tides that continue to shape the work.
Today, the studio is also home to a growing team of makers, designers + creatives who help bring the collection, appointments, pop-ups + everyday details of WWG to life.
